Features: Ding Xiaobing, born in September 1965, joined the army in October 1983. In a major military operation in 1984, he heroically injured himself and lost his right arm. In June 1985, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League awarded him 101 gold medals titled "Outstanding Youth on the Border Areas of the Nation." Over the past 20 years, Ding Xiaobing has been honored with the title of "National Self-Strengthening Model" by the Ministry of Personnel and the China Disabled Persons' Federation, recognized as a "Model of Loving the People and Loving the State" by the General Headquarters of the People's Armed Police and the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, and named an Advanced Learner of the Important Thought of "Three Represents," an Outstanding Communist Party Member, and an Outstanding Cadre Model by the General Headquarters of the People's Armed Police. In May 2005, he was honorably elected as the eighth "Top 10 Loyal Guards of the Chinese People's Armed Police." According to incomplete statistics, Ding Xiaobing has received 288 medals and certificates. Before the 2006 Spring Festival, when General Secretary Hu Jintao inspected the troops, he personally clicked on a webpage and carefully read the special report on Ding Xiaobing, calling on all officers and soldiers of the army and the People's Armed Police to learn from Comrade Ding Xiaobing.
