Identity research

Author: Zhang Jing, Editor-in-Chief

Publish Date: 2006-03-01
Features: This collection is a result of the National Social Science Fund Project and the Ministry of Education Sociology Base Project "Research on Social Identity of Members" led by Professor Zhang Jing. This issue consists of eight independent papers, covering two parts: theoretical methods and case studies. The focus of the articles is on the identification and changes of ordinary people toward a certain social identity and its rules, including the sources of its influence, especially the impact of values and (sociohistorical) structures. In the coming years, we plan to complete some new works in this field and publish them in collections, although it is possible that the research focus may shift to the concept of social justice and its institutional foundations. In the theoretical methods section of this issue, several articles discuss the "identity" issue from different perspectives, including political sociology, social philosophy, and methodological concepts.
