Features: Poetry creation is a highly free, dynamic, and emotionally charged consciousness-language activity, making it difficult to harmonize with strict and rigid metrical rules. Constraints like tonal patterns, prescribed parallelism, and the rigid word limits of fixed forms impose significant limitations on poetic creation. Major reforms are necessary for classical Chinese poetry, but haste is not the answer. Reforms should be implemented gradually over a longer period. For now, it may be advisable to change the rhyme rules to primarily follow the phonetic system of modern Chinese, while also shifting the linguistic focus from ancient terms to modern ones. This approach seems prudent and feasible. This book is a collection of literary works by Comrade Liu Shuxin. It includes articles on the linguistic conditions of Chinese poetry culture, the principle of implied meaning in Chinese poetic lines and idioms, the imagery and functions of lexical color, and discussions on lexical system issues. The book contains three main sections: "Essays," "Prose, Essays, and Prefaces," and "Poetry," with over a hundred works (poems). Examples include "The Linguistic Conditions of Chinese Poetry Culture," "The Train from Nanling Arrives in Guangbei," and "West River Moon·Double Bridges at Dawn."
