Features: The study of language in specialized books is a fundamental task in the research of linguistic ontology. Since the 1990s, with the comprehensive development of the study of the history of the Chinese language, especially the increasing attention paid to the study of modern Chinese, the research on specialized books has occupied a significant position in the academic planning of the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Compared to the previously planned and argued project in the 1960s, which was ultimately shelved due to objective conditions, this specialized book research project is on a larger scale, encompassing both ancient and modern periods, and involves more participants, both within and outside the institute. This book takes the 12 newly added Dunhuang Bianwen annotations as the research subjects and discusses the grammatical phenomena of Dunhuang Bianwen. The book is divided into ten chapters, providing a relatively comprehensive description and analysis of the grammatical facts in the Bianwen. The research methodology of this book is primarily quantitative analysis and static description. Specifically, the 12 types of Bianwen are treated as a closed system, and the grammatical phenomena within them are quantitatively analyzed and classified, without involving diachronic comparisons with related literature.
