Features: This book selects 3,033 images (3,037 individuals) of historical figures from ancient times to the late Qing Dynasty, each featuring a clear and representative figure. It is currently the most comprehensive toolbook in the category of ancient image collections. It not only provides for education and research but also serves as a reference for artists creating character images. The collection spans from ancient times to the late Qing Dynasty, including a few individuals who died after the Republic of China but primarily active during the Qing Dynasty, such as Kang Youwei and Yan Fu. Figures whose main activities were in the Republic of China are excluded, such as Sun Yat-sen and Liang Qichao. Some foreign individuals who had a significant impact in China are also included. Below each image is a brief introduction of the figure, listing name, birth and death years or era, courtesy name, place of origin, identity, and a summary of their deeds and the source of the image. Names of renowned artists are also noted for reference.
