1. This book is divided into two volumes, compiling the author's miscellaneous writings in chronological order. The first volume contains works from 1918 to 1932, totaling 188 pieces; the second volume contains works from 1933 to 1936, totaling 252 pieces, along with six appendices. For convenience, the table of contents is arranged volume by volume.
2. The works included in this book are based on genre and do not include academic essays, speeches, prefaces, announcements, letters, diaries, etc. Additionally, given the potential overlap between miscellaneous writings and prose, works included in the Complete Prose of Lu Xun are generally excluded, except for one or two exceptions.
3. The works included in this book have been slightly collated based on their original publications. In the original text, variant characters and homophones are mostly retained as per the of Lu Xun's published works.
4. This book provides brief annotations for some personal names, place names, book titles, quotations, political parties, organizations, cultural institutions, etc. Classical terms and allusions are generally not annotated. For brevity, the same term is usually annotated only upon its first occurrence in the same volume.
