Why is semen yellow?

Patient's question:

Symptom Description: Discovered that the semen was yellow in March 2010.
History of Treatment and Effect: No treatment has been administered.
Help Needed: What medicine can help recover quickly?

Doctor's answer:

Semen discoloration to yellow can theoretically indicate inflammation or infection. Since prostatic fluid and seminal vesicle secretion are the main factors in semen formation, yellow semen is likely related to prostatitis or seminal vesiculitis. Normally, freshly ejaculated semen is viscous, milky white, and contains grayish-white clumps. About 10 minutes later, these clumps liquefy on their own, turning into a translucent, cloudy, thin viscous fluid. Yellow semen is a symptom, not a disease. This condition is common in adolescents. The main physiological factors include: infrequent sexual activity, irregular sexual habits, or a long-term habit of masturbation, which can lead to yellow semen.
