How is balanitis treated?

Patient's question:

When I was in love with my wife, she had a gynecological disease. Sometimes I wore a condom because it was uncomfortable. Last night I didn't bring one, but my wife said, "You have balanitis, will it be contagious to her?" This inflammation has been with me for a long time, and it's extremely painful when it flares up. Sometimes it also itches.

Doctor's answer:

Candidal balanoposthitis: More common in cases of excessive foreskin, with a history of unprotected sex, mild erythema of the penis foreskin and glans, white cheesy patches on the inner foreskin and coronal sulcus of the glans, and pinpoint-sized pale red papules on the glans. If it affects the external foreskin and scrotum, it may present as scaly erythema. If the navicular fossa is involved, symptoms such as frequent urination and dysuria may occur. Local symptoms may include burning sensation and itching. For individuals with candidiasis allergy, recurrent penile itching and burning sensation, along with balanoposthitis erythema, may occur several hours after unprotected sex.
