Patient's question:
I recently had scaling and redness on the base of my inner thigh near the scrotum again, sometimes itchy. Occasionally, there's white discharge on the glans, and it hurts when touched. Now I bathe almost every day, but the symptoms haven't improved. Today I bought anti-inflammatory medicine, probably because the inflammation keeps recurring.Doctor's answer:
Circumcision balanitis is very common in clinical diagnosis.1. Acute superficial balanitis: characterized by edema, erythema, exudation, and desquamation. Secondary infection may lead to purulent discharge, easily forming ulcers, accompanied by subjective pain.
2. Circumferential erosive balanitis: inflammation of the glans and foreskin manifests in a ring pattern, or a ring with cheesy smegma. Over time, it may rupture into shallow ulcers.
3. Plasma cell balanitis: more common in middle-aged individuals, presenting as a single or multiple chronic, non-healing inflammatory lesions in plaque-like form. The surface may be smooth, scaly, or moist, with significant involvement. The borders are well-defined and not easily ruptured, with tiny, chili pepper-like spots visible on the surface. The appearance is difficult to distinguish from proliferative erythema of the glans.
Sexual medicine conditions are not terrifying. Believing that you can overcome the illness is key. As long as symptoms are detected early and treated appropriately, the chances of controlling the condition and achieving recovery are very high.
