The newly revised law summarizes the experience and lessons learned in China's infectious disease prevention and control and makes substantial modifications to the original legal provisions. Its promulgation and implementation will play a significant role in preventing, controlling, and eliminating the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases, safeguarding public health, maintaining the public interest, and promoting social development. Infectious disease prevention and control work is closely related to the lives and health of the broad masses of the people. Implementing the law on infectious disease prevention and control is an important responsibility of governments at all levels.
