Features: Since its establishment, the Basic Department of the Central Academy of Arts and Design has already passed over a decade. When initially founded, the Basic Department gathered outstanding teaching staff from various aspects such as painting fundamentals, design fundamentals, and professional design within the academy. Its purpose was to broaden the foundational scope of all disciplines within the academy, blur professional boundaries, strengthen teaching management, introduce competitive mechanisms, and ultimately achieve the goal of improving teaching quality. The Basic Department has a strong faculty of painting fundamentals teachers, while also incorporating teachers from various departments and disciplines. Everyone worked enthusiastically and selflessly, laying a solid foundation for the newly established Basic Department and the teaching system during the exploration phase. This series of technical books is the result of long-term exploration by all the teachers of the Basic Department. I believe it has many distinctive features:
1. Practicality: This technical book series is not about techniques or personal technical insights, but rather the outcomes of teaching practice. It is the product of long-term collaborative creative practice with students from numerous classes, making it both rich and convincing;
2. Integration: Since the establishment of the Basic Department, the entire process has been one of in-depth exchange among multidisciplinary talents and continuous refinement of teaching. The integration of painting fundamentals courses (or) and professional fundamentals courses is rare and will elevate the expression of various artistic creations;
3. Creativity: Most of the authors of this series are young and energetic, striving for innovation while inheriting traditional techniques and the creative achievements of older generations of artists. They have carefully organized this targeted technical book series, combining the knowledge structure of young people in the 1990s. I believe that through this series, readers will see that the foundational teaching in the field of art and design education is also demonstrating efforts to adapt to future development.
