Features: Looking back at more than a decade of academic research on civil society and the rule of law, it can be said that the results have been abundant and its influence has been growing. It reflects the reality of China's social pluralization, autonomous development, and the process of democratic rule of law, while also focusing on the direction of democratic rule of law in the era of globalization. Therefore, it holds great significance. My book The State, Civil Society, and the Rule of Law provides a relatively detailed analysis of the dilemmas and hopes of Western civil society and the rule of law, and establishes a theoretical analytical framework for the relationship between civil society and the rule of law. Subsequently, the collection The Social Foundations of the Rule of Law (published by the Chinese Social Sciences Press in 2003) offers some supplementary analyses. The research on non-governmental organizations in this book aims to move from a macro-theoretical analytical framework to specific and detailed investigations, thereby more deeply and realistically exploring the significance and issues of China's civil society and the rule of law process, and advancing the "Sinicization" of civil society research.
