Features: Western political thought has a long history and has made significant contributions to the development of world culture over thousands of years. In Western history, many insightful and profound great theorists and thinkers emerged, "born in response to their time." Their ideas guided people's understanding of political phenomena and gradually enriched and deepened their ability to solve political problems. For millennia, they have made indelible contributions to developing political wisdom and building human political civilization. Liberal political thought, as a typical political view in the West, is a product that emerged in response to the historical and social conditions of Western society and was rooted in Western soil. Especially, it integrated and coordinated various relationships in Western society, catalyzed and propelled the emergence and development of Western capitalism. The bourgeoisie has continuously used it to maintain its political rule. The main purpose of compiling this book is to help people accurately understand the West, enhance their ability to discern, absorb beneficial components, improve political wisdom, and establish a Marxist political view. The book consists of five volumes—Volume 1, Ancient Greek and Roman Political Thought; Volume 2, Medieval Political Thought; Volume 3, 17th and 18th Century Political Thought; Volume 4, 19th Century to Pre-WWII Political Thought; Volume 5, Contemporary Political Thought. Together, they form a historical narrative, while each volume can stand independently. Each volume is expected to have approximately 35,000 words, with the total text not exceeding 200,000 words.
