Features: The book's characteristics lie in: , the description of artistic effects and the root cause analysis of these effects are closely integrated. This feature is closely related to my deepened understanding of textual analysis in order to fully answer the questions raised by the expert mentioned earlier. Second, more attention is paid to placing artistic effects within the broader perspectives of literary history, literary trends, and other contexts outside the text. This is different from the previous book. The reason for this feature is that the object of analysis in Foreign Classic Short Story Textual Analysis is not a native-language text, and it is more challenging to analyze within the broader contexts of literary trends and literary history. However, the shift to the textual analysis of modern Chinese classic novels offers greater freedom and ease. In fact, considering and analyzing within the framework of literary history has not constrained thinking but rather provided reference points. Third, emphasis is placed on the rich intertextual foundation provided by Chinese cultural classics for the art of the novel, which is both a key focus and the main analytical approach. Fourth, the book's organizational structure follows Foreign Classic Short Story Textual Analysis, arranging the works in the order of their publication. This principle aims to treat literary works as a common treasure of humanity once they are created, and also to arrange the works as if they were pearls strung on a golden thread of time, enduring the tests of time and remaining timeless.
