Features: The content covered in this book is indeed extensive, covering a wide range of topics and aspects. Due to its nature of "investigation," "dream exploration," and "analysis," the entire book demands substance, logical reasoning, and well-supported arguments. As the authors progressed with writing, they increasingly felt overwhelmed and experienced a sense of helplessness, much like the line from the poem: "Last night the west wind withered the green trees, I climbed up the tower alone, gazing far into the distance."
The fundamental perspective of this book is that: mass consumption and the upgrading of consumption structures, the new industrialization path, and accelerated urbanization are the three driving forces for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. The three major transformation tasks for China to achieve a moderately prosperous society are: the transition of lifestyles from rural to urban societies, the integration of industrialization and informatization in production methods, and the dominance of the middle class in social structures. Industries such as housing, automobiles, electronic information, tourism, and biotechnology will serve as new leading industries, forming the industrial foundation for a higher level of moderate prosperity. Improving the social security system, promoting coordinated regional development, optimizing investment and consumption environments, and increasing investment in education and human capital will lay the foundation for a higher level of moderate prosperity.
To achieve coordinated economic and social development, China's ownership structure will be further optimized, and private capital will continue to grow. A new social welfare system and a public finance framework will gradually take shape and be refined. The "volunteer-driven public welfare" third sector will gradually rise and expand, providing intermediary and direct services that the government may not be able to or is unwilling to offer, as well as services that the market fails to provide.
