Features: To implement the preferential agricultural policy mentioned in Central No. 1 Document of 2005 regarding "subsidizing the Dairy Breeding Project starting from 2005," and to effectively accelerate the improvement of dairy breeds in China, enhance productivity levels, increase farmers' income, and promote the healthy development of China's dairy industry. This year, the central government allocated funds to conduct pilot programs for dairy breeding subsidies in dairy regions, providing physical subsidies in the form of high-quality frozen semen for dairy farmers to encourage the use of premium frozen semen, boost farmers' enthusiasm for adopting high-quality semen, accelerate the promotion of premium frozen semen, improve herd quality, and enhance dairy farming efficiency. Developing dairy production requires high-quality breeds as the foundation and scientific management as the key, emphasizing the principle of "high-quality breeds with scientific methods." Many farmers lack experience in dairy farming management, leading to low milk production, poor reproductive performance, and low farming efficiency. Therefore, we invited Professor Wang Genlin from Nanjing Agricultural University and Dr. Zhang Shengli from Beijing Dairy Center to jointly compile this booklet. During the compilation process, we selected some content from Zhang Guowei's "Smart Dairy Farming" and Dong Xide's "Healthy Dairy Farming and Rearing Management," for which we express our gratitude. This book covers the main aspects of dairy farming management, is easy to understand, highly practical, and suitable for dairy farming specialists and small-scale dairy farms. The book includes 30 topics such as preparation before dairy farming, selecting dairy cows, production records, ration formulation, making and utilizing silage, feeding management for dairy cows at different stages, identifying physiological signs, selecting frozen semen, preventing and controlling key diseases, and preventing and treating common diseases, along with ecological and physiological indicators of adult dairy cows and common feed formulations and ration compositions. The content is practical and highly targeted, emphasizing the explanation of key technologies, making it suitable for dairy farming specialists and employees of dairy farms to read.
