Features: With the progress of China's socialist material and spiritual civilization, China's socialist legal system has achieved remarkable accomplishments worldwide. One by one, criminal laws, civil and commercial laws, economic laws, and administrative laws have been successively promulgated by the country's highest legislative authorities. It can be said that we have now basically achieved the rule of law, and the legal system for China's socialist market economy has also taken shape. This will undoubtedly play a significant role in ensuring the well-being of the Chinese people, promoting orderly market competition, and enabling the government to govern according to law, as well as in building a socialist rule-of-law state.
The abstract nature of legal norms and the professionalism of legal language have posed many obstacles for the general public in understanding legal content, while also presenting certain difficulties for judicial and law enforcement personnel in applying the law. Additionally, many aspects of China's existing legal system still require improvement. How to correctly understand and accurately apply the law has become an urgent issue before us. To help readers better understand the specific content and judicial application of China's laws, we have invited experts and scholars from the National People's Congress Law Commission, the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Peking University, and Southwest University of Political Science and Law, among others, to jointly compile this series, New Compendium of Common Laws in the New Century. Following the order of legal articles, this series provides a comprehensive explanation of the legislative intent and specific application of nearly 50 commonly used laws in China, divided into three main parts: keyword definitions, understanding and application, and cases and analysis.
In the keyword definitions section, the main terms in each article are defined to prevent disagreements in application. The understanding and application section provides a detailed elaboration on the content and application of each article. The cases and analysis section selects relevant cases to comment on, deepening the reader's understanding.
This series strives to reflect China's latest mature theories and judicial practices. All content is aligned with the most recent laws, regulations, rules, and judicial interpretations, and modifications to relevant laws are clearly explained in the corresponding sections.
