Features: The use of food for health preservation and well-being has been practiced since ancient times. Through consuming nutritious foods, humans can achieve the goals of self-nourishment, preventing and treating diseases, and extending life expectancy. The health benefits of food therapy not only lie in enhancing the body's disease resistance but can also serve as supplementary measures for disease prevention and treatment. Through long-term and repeated practice, people have long discovered that many foods, in addition to their nutritional value, also possess the four basic properties of "warm, cool, dry, and hot" and the five flavors of "sweet, pungent, sour, bitter, and salty," making them suitable for disease prevention and treatment. This is why the saying "medicine and food originate from the same source" exists. To meet the needs of the (vast middle-aged and elderly friends), we have compiled this series of books, "Compendium of Health-preserving Food Therapy for Middle-aged and Elderly People." This series consists of three books: "Grains and" (Grains and), "Vegetables, Tofu, and Meat" (Vegetables, Tofu, and Meat), and "Soups, Stews, Teas, and Drinks" (Soups, Stews, Teas, and Drinks). It includes the recipes for most dishes commonly used in daily life. During the compilation, we paid special attention to selecting economical, nutritious, and commonly used foods as raw materials, and the preparation methods are designed to be simple and suitable for home cooking. Additionally, I have compiled the nutritional composition and characteristics of each food to help middle-aged and elderly friends with chronic diseases or weak constitutions "eat according to symptoms." Finally, we have included an auxiliary food therapy index, allowing readers to find recipes based on their specific needs.
