Should I be treated for a prostatic cyst?

Patient's question:

I am now the manager of the company, and to others, I am already successful in my career. However, recently I have been feeling uncomfortable. My wife insists that I go to the hospital for a thorough examination. Lately, I don't know why the number of times I use the restroom has significantly increased, and it is much more difficult than before. The hospital said I have a prostatic cyst.

Doctor's answer:

Smaller, asymptomatic cysts may not require treatment, while larger cysts or symptomatic small cysts can be treated surgically. The surgical approaches include transurethral, extravesical, perineal, and transrectal, among others. Poor exposure often leads to incomplete cyst removal, resulting in a high recurrence rate and frequent complications. For cysts near the perineum, perineal approach surgery is more likely to cause erectile dysfunction (ED), so it should be used with caution in young patients. There have been reports of cyst puncture and aspiration under ultrasound guidance, followed by the injection of a coagulant.
