Features: The Imperially Commissioned Revised Qing Language Dictionary, 47 volumes, compiled by Emperor Qiaogao Hongli, printed in the Wuying Palace in the 36th Year of the Qianlong Reign (1771), 48 volumes. The format of the text block is 22.4cm × 17.8cm. This book is a monarchially commissioned bilingual Manchu-Chinese dictionary, compiled by translating, supplementing, and revising The Imperially Commissioned Qing Language Dictionary, with the addition of phonetic annotations. Based on The Imperially Commissioned Qing Language Dictionary, it adds 12 categories, approximately 4,700 newly defined terms and 1,636 ancient rare terms, but removes the classical quoted sentences under the annotations. The focus of the revision is to replace the Chinese transliterated loanwords in The Imperially Commissioned Qing Language Dictionary with Manchu terms, thereby expanding the vocabulary of Manchu words. This book became the most direct basis for standardizing Qing-era Manchu. Later-compiled dictionaries were generally based on this work, adding other languages or scripts, or removing phonetic annotations, annotations, or excerpts of terms, among other modifications.
