Features: This series, "A Concise History of China," is designed as a reader to popularize Chinese history among young people. I believe that even non-adolescents, such as lovers of history and literature, might as well read this series. Compared to the grand, multi-million-word "Comprehensive History of China," each volume in this series only contains about 100,000 words, with a total of eight volumes, adding up to only several hundred thousand words, hence the name "Concise History." More importantly, this book is not a historical anecdote, nor is it the sensationalized history that is (currently flooding the market and posing endless consequences)—it is a serious and rigorous comprehensive history, merely aiming to be as concise and accessible as possible. Each volume is written by experts and scholars in their respective fields, making this series a popular reader written by experts. I cannot guarantee that every volume's text is as fluid as flowing clouds or as brilliant as a splendid literary style. But I can guarantee that each author firmly grasps the historical context, highly condenses the main content of the period, presents it clearly and comprehensively, leaving nothing to the imagination, and ensures the accuracy of historical facts. Readers are reading reliable history. The last chapter of each volume provides an overview of the world in the same historical period. If readers complete the entire series, they will clearly see how our great China, once a powerful nation on the world stage, gradually declined until the final collapse of the Celestial Empire—the fall of the Qing Dynasty.
