For this revision, we fully adopted the suggestions and opinions of readers, revised the book based on the newly issued Vocabulary List for College English Teaching Program by the Ministry of Education, and the new changes in the question types of the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6. It retains the essence of the original book while enriching its content, improving its format, and making it more distinctive:
Comprehensive—More Comprehensive Content:
1. According to the requirements of the new program, we have supplemented the entries to overcome the original book's shortcomings in word coverage, enabling readers to memorize all words and phrases in the program.
2. We have further strengthened the memorization of multiple meanings of words, enriching readers' vocabulary.
3. Based on the strong demand of many readers, we have added more examples for the memory of familiar words with unfamiliar meanings and difficult words with multiple meanings, playing the role of contextual memory, so that readers not only memorize but also use them.
4. We have added countable and uncountable nouns, irregular plural nouns for nouns, and past tense and past participle forms for irregular verbs. We have also added synonyms and antonyms under the word meanings to help readers consolidate their memory.
5. We have supplemented or revised the usage, collocations, and differentiation of words in the original book. In short, we strive to achieve comprehensiveness, accuracy, and meticulousness.
