Features: This doctoral dissertation is completed based on the aforementioned understandings. Fundamentally, this topic reflects the observation of contemporary Chinese social reality by Marxist theory. Guided by Marxist interest theory and the class analysis method, the author takes the significant interest relationships faced during China's social transformation period as the background, critically references existing domestic and international research, conducts extensive social surveys, and fully utilizes relevant materials from ethics, political science, sociology, economics, and other disciplines. The author is committed to objectively describing the characteristics and development trends of the interest structure in contemporary China, fairly evaluating its structure and changes, and proposing practical and forward-looking countermeasures that are theoretically open and practically operational for coordinating the relationships among various interest groups. Additionally, the author preliminarily explores the relationship between promoting harmonious interest relationships and building a harmonious socialist society. The content is comprehensive and detailed, with incisive analysis, revealing various aspects of interest groups in contemporary Chinese society. In the book, the author focuses on key issues in the field of Marxist theory and conducts in-depth analysis with rich knowledge in ethics, sociology, political science, and economics, demonstrating the integration of theory and practice and the interdisciplinary intersection. The conclusions of this book greatly benefit us in analyzing the social conditions of contemporary China more clearly, comprehensively, and profoundly. Especially, the author's argument on internal contradictions of the people further deepens our understanding and recognition of correctly handling these practical issues. Therefore, whether in promoting theoretical research or practical operations, the book makes positive contributions. As a doctoral dissertation, it reflects the author's keen insight into contemporary Chinese society and deep humanistic concern, imbued with the author's hard work and refined efforts over years.
Marx once said, "All that people strive for is related to interest." The pursuit of interest forms people's motivation and becomes the driving force behind their practical activities. In this sense, any social transformation ultimately aims to re-regulate and integrate people's interest relationships to promote and facilitate the development of social production and meet people's material and cultural needs.
"The birds of a feather flock together, and people of the same kind stick together." This simple saying reveals a truth: social individuals are always consciously divided into different groups. In modern society, the most important criterion for group division is the relationship of interest. Interest groups are thus born. The differentiation of interest is the product of multiple factors and is an inevitable outcome of highly developed society. Among them, the most critical factor is the standardization of socio-economic components, organizational forms, employment methods, interest relationships, and distribution methods since the implementation of reform and opening-up and the development of a socialist market economy. These "diversifications" have greatly contributed to the differentiation of interest and the reconstruction of the interest structure. In this book, the author focuses on key issues in the field of Marxist theory and conducts in-depth analysis with rich knowledge in ethics, sociology, political science, and economics, demonstrating the integration of theory and practice and the interdisciplinary intersection.
