Features: This book includes five chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction, covering student laboratory rules, safety knowledge, an introduction to organic chemistry experimental instruments and reaction setups, manual and literature searches, and laboratory environmental protection. Chapter 2 includes the determination of physical constants of organic compounds such as melting point, boiling point, refractive index, and optical rotation. Chapter 3 is a synthesis experiment. We take classic and representative types of organic reactions as the main line, under the guidance of strengthening synthesis experiment training and reinforcing separation and purification operations, and select 58 experiments based on non-toxicity, greenness, and practicality. Among them, experiments 55–58 are multi-step series reactions, providing students with comprehensive training on the basis of unit experiment operations and training. Most experiments integrate reaction, synthesis, separation, purification, physical property determination, and spectral identification into a unified process. Chapter 4 includes 18 basic operations, with 5 of the main basic operations accompanied by basic operation experiments. Chapter 5 is an appendix, containing multiple practical tables for reference. This book can be used as a teaching material for chemistry, applied chemistry, polymer science, materials, biology, environment, medicine, and pharmacy majors in comprehensive universities. It can also be selected by engineering and normal universities.
