Features: This book is a research outcome of the "Reform Plan for Teaching Content and Curriculum Systems in Higher Education Towards the 21st Century" by the Ministry of Education. It is one of the core textbooks for the 21st-century curriculum and the main teaching materials for tourism management majors in higher education institutions. It is also part of the national-level planning textbooks for the 15th Five-Year Plan. While maintaining the rigorous structure and comprehensive discussions of previous editions, this edition further clarifies the target audience and makes significant revisions to most chapters in line with disciplinary development and practical teaching needs. The second edition is divided into four parts.
Part 1: Introduction, which primarily introduces the research objects, tasks, and methods of tourism psychology, as well as the research models of tourism behavior.
Part 2: Tourist Psychology, which adopts a more macro-oriented approach in studying the psychology and behavior of tourists, emphasizing that tourism is a process through which tourists gain experiences and satisfaction. It also highlights the importance of understanding tourist psychology and behavior through formulaic marketing strategies.
Part 3: Tourism Enterprise Management Psychology, which introduces key concepts of management psychology and covers current hot topics in the field, such as team building, virtual organizations, boundaryless organizations, innovation, and creating learning organizations.
Part 4: Tourism Enterprise Service Psychology, which provides a concise overview of the psychological factors in the three pillars of the tourism industry: travel agencies, tourism transportation, and hotel services.
The book incorporates numerous case studies to further emphasize the guiding role of theory in practice. It can serve as a textbook for undergraduate tourism management majors in higher education institutions and as training materials for senior management personnel in tourism enterprises and related industries.
