Features: The Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) courseware for "Solid State Physics" is a key national science and technology project under the "Nineth Five-Year Plan." Based on years of teaching experience, the CAI Research Center of the Department of Physics at Fudan University developed this courseware after multiple trials and revisions. It uses dynamic visuals to intuitively demonstrate the microscopic crystal structures and related physical laws involved in the course, providing an effective teaching tool for solid-state physics and receiving positive feedback from peers both domestically and internationally. This book explains the properties of solids and the laws of solid-state physics, introducing electrons and phonons in crystals, the motion of crystal electrons under external fields, the thermal and mechanical properties of solids, and more. The courseware is divided into five chapters, with the first four covering most of the content of the undergraduate "Solid State Physics" curriculum in comprehensive universities and normal universities in China. The fifth chapter introduces some recent advancements in condensed matter physics since the 1990s to broaden students' knowledge. The appendix contains relevant physical terms. The entire courseware includes over 100 knowledge points, more than 200 static images, and over 50 animated video images. Each knowledge point integrates text, images, and sound. In some knowledge points, users can adjust parameters as needed to observe important physical phenomena and processes.
