Features: International Business Management, as an independent branch of the management discipline, has developed in recent decades. It draws upon theories from sociology, anthropology, political economy, international economics, international trade, international commercial law, and business management to form a complete theoretical system and framework. It covers the flow and management of factors such as products, technology, personnel, information, and capital within enterprises on a global scale. To help undergraduate students in business management programs at universities better understand and master the theories and methods of international business operations, the author has written this comprehensive textbook, "International Business Management," based on years of teaching courses on international business operations and management. The book primarily focuses on the international environment in which a business operates, as well as the theoretical foundations, development processes, management methods, control mechanisms, business strategies, and the qualities, conditions, and capabilities that international business managers should possess in this unpredictable and fiercely competitive environment. The book includes numerous case studies of successful and unsuccessful international business operations by Chinese and foreign enterprises to enhance students' ability to think independently, analyze problems, and find solutions.
With the continuous improvement of China's domestic market economy system and the deepening integration of China's economy with the global economy, Chinese enterprises, particularly state-owned enterprises, have their market competitiveness through industrial restructuring, asset reorganization, deepening enterprise reforms, and establishing modern corporate systems. More and more Chinese enterprises are leveraging their domestic base to expand internationally, moving production factors abroad for direct investment and participation in global competition. According to incomplete statistics, by the end of 2000, China had 6,298 enterprises investing overseas, with a total investment of $11.36 billion, of which Chinese investment accounted for $7.57 billion. Chinese enterprises are increasingly integrating into the wave of internationalization and globalization, demonstrating their strong vitality and are bound to play a significant role in future international competition.
By the end of 2000, China's foreign exchange reserves had reached as high as $165.6 billion, and the improvement in comprehensive national strength has laid a solid material foundation for Chinese enterprises to participate in global competition. To help Chinese business managers better understand and master the operations of international enterprises, the author has written this MBA series textbook, "International Business Management," based on years of teaching international business operations and management to graduate students in business management, MBA students, EMBA students, and senior corporate executives. The book primarily covers the international environment in which a business operates, as well as the theoretical foundations, development processes, management methods, control mechanisms, business strategies, and the qualities, conditions, and capabilities that international business managers should possess in this unpredictable and fiercely competitive environment.
