Features: We know that to learn English well, it mainly comes down to memorizing words and mastering grammar. Therefore, grasping a certain number of words is one of the important conditions for learning English well. (In terms of vocabulary, learners cannot compare with native English speakers in either quantity or quality. Native English speakers, starting from babbling at about two years old until they reach adulthood at eighteen, master an average of 10–13 words per day. By adulthood, they can have a vocabulary of over sixty or seventy thousand words.) This requires strong perseverance and clever methods. It is not an exaggeration to say that Chinese people find it difficult to learn English, as difficult as climbing the sky. So, what is the reason for this difficulty, and where is the way out? Only by tapping into potential from other aspects, i.e., understanding the functions of words and practicing diligently, can we overcome these challenges. Many people find it hard to learn English when they first start. They forget the words they have just memorized shortly after learning them. Many others spend a lot of time rote memorizing, yet still achieve half the results with double the effort. Some even feel helpless when faced with the vast list of English words. Even teachers often tell their students, "Don't ask why, just remember what." Due to the limited knowledge and abilities of teachers, when students ask various questions, teachers often only know the "what" but not the "why," which is a common issue in the teaching process.
