Features: The content to be discussed and studied in A History of Criminal Law in China includes not only criminal law and the criminal justice system but also criminal procedure and the criminal law thoughts of different dynasties. This is partly because, in the history of our country, these fields were not separated legally for a long time. It is also because criminal law and criminal procedure are inherently "like the external form and connection of plants and the external form and flesh of animals" (Vol. 1 of The Collected Works of Marx and Engels, p. 178), and cannot be neatly separated. If they are forcibly divided, some issues may become even harder to explain. Furthermore, since a separate course on the history of criminal procedure law in China has not yet been established, it is also necessary to study and introduce them together.
