Features: When the members of the Beilun Writers Association received the task of compiling this collection of reportage, they were filled with excitement. The reasons were twofold: first, the two severe typhoons in 2005 were truly once-in-a-century events, thrilling and full of material for stories; second, since its establishment in 1989, the Beilun Writers Association had never been given such a high-profile, mandatory task by the district leadership, making them feel both honored and thrilled. However, reportage differs from news reports—it must accurately reflect facts while also possessing profound literary depth. Among our members, some had experience in writing reportage, while others lacked practical experience in this area. From August to September 2005, the severe typhoons "Matsa" and "Ketsana" struck Beilun. Those days were thrilling, days of battling the heavens, unforgettable days, and days that would surely be vividly recorded in the annals of Beilun history.
