Features: In recent years, Comrade Hu Shuanquan has written many essays and under the pen name "Shi Shang Liu" and has frequently been published in newspapers. Over time, his manuscripts have filled the shelves. At the beginning of last autumn, I suggested, "Arrange some time to organize and select some pieces to compile a collection, as a." He merely said, "Thank you for the encouragement" without giving a clear response. Who would have thought, less than half a year later, he asked me to write a preface. So, this was the "response" to that encouragement. While I dare not accept the task of writing a preface, it is unavoidable to write a few introductory words. I readily agreed. The book is divided into three parts: "Hometown," "Beyond the Great Wall," and "Return," narrating my life's journey east and west, the sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy experiences of my life, and my deep feelings for my hometown, my second hometown, and my dear friends and family. There is also an appendix titled "Appreciation," which includes comments on my works by a few fellow writers.
