Features: According to the exam syllabus, the dictation section is 15 minutes long, with a length of about 150 words, a speaking speed of 120 words per minute, and it accounts for 15% of the total score, which is equivalent to 15 points. The syllabus requires candidates to write down the material word for word based on a comprehensive understanding of the content, with correct spelling and punctuation, and an error rate not exceeding 8%. The material is divided into 15 sections. The dictation passage is read aloud four times. The first reading is at normal speed to help students grasp the main idea of the material. During the second and third readings, there is a gap of about 15 seconds between clauses (or sentences) to allow students to write. (Note: The second and third readings actually mean each clause or sentence is read aloud twice consecutively.) The fourth reading is again at normal speed for students to check their answers. At the end, 2 minutes are allocated for review. It is important to note that since the test paper for the dictation section must be submitted immediately after the section is completed, no time from the listening comprehension section should be used to review and check the dictation.
