[Preface] This book is the second volume in the "Neck, Shoulder, Back, and Leg Pain Diagnosis and Treatment Series." Examination is the foundation of clinical disciplines. Physicians specializing in neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain must master the methods and clinical significance of examinations in their field. Currently, there are few books in China that introduce examination methods for neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain. The various examinations in this specialty are often scattered across books on orthopedics, bone trauma, spinal and limb surgery, and soft tissue surgery, which brings inconvenience to scholars. We have referenced many books and combined our clinical experience to compile this specialized text. The purpose of this book is to strive for comprehensiveness, systematic organization, and conciseness, presenting examination methods for each part in a clinically practical order or position, and explaining their clinical significance. Special attention has been given to pain anamnesis, soft tissue system examinations, neurological examinations, and X-ray examinations during the writing process to meet the needs of clinical practice, teaching, and research, facilitating the study of physicians specializing in neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain. This book provides assistance in the diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and therapeutic comparison of neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain conditions.
