5. Most e-commerce books published domestically focus on one or a few aspects of e-commerce application and development. Due to the lack of comprehensive government support and the participation of a large number of experts and scholars, the data and statistics in these books often lack reliability. In contrast, the China E-commerce Yearbook adopts a panoramic approach, covering e-commerce application and development from the perspectives of government, experts, and enterprises, providing a comprehensive understanding of the current state of e-commerce in China.
Initiated by the High-Tech Industry Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, the Trade and Market Bureau of the former Ministry of Economy and Trade, and the High-Tech Industrialization Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China E-commerce Yearbook was jointly established by relevant ministries, departments, national commissions, and the People's Bank of China. With the assistance of industry associations, research institutions, and relevant universities, it invited leaders from 22 government ministries and commissions, as well as domestic e-commerce experts and scholars, to form the editorial board of the China E-commerce Yearbook. It also invited leaders from major enterprises in the banking, securities, insurance, telecommunications, information service, and IT sectors to form the expert committee of the China E-commerce Yearbook. Leaders from provincial and municipal informationization authorities were invited to form expert committees for each province, autonomous region, and municipality. Through continuous efforts, the yearbook has refined its framework for soliciting contributions from central to local levels and from industries to enterprises. Building on the publication of China's first professional yearbook on e-commerce, it has established authority, academic rigor, and significance in the field of informationization and e-commerce communication.
