Features: The upper part of this book consists of four articles briefly outlining the development of seal carving, from its origins and historical evolution to the seal carving schools of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The lower part starts with ancient seals, tracing the sources and flows, introducing various schools and masters of each period, up to Qi Baishi. The introductions to each seal master involve brief biographical sketches, relationships with masters, and adaptations of styles. Selected seals are also briefly analyzed. Due to space limitations, this narrative can only be very rough. Regarding the selection of illustrations, we originally considered the principles of [authentic], [exquisite], and [rare], but due to layout constraints, many valuable seal impressions had to be omitted.
