Features: Whether these ideas can be realized and whether we can turn our desire to contribute high-quality works into reality depends entirely on the support and cooperation of scholars and experts in the translation field, teachers and students at schools, and readers. Without such support and cooperation, even the best ideas would remain empty words. The collaboration and cooperation we expect include bestowing manuscripts, recommending topics, introducing authors, and commenting on published works. Whether the comments are praise or criticism, they will encourage us to do better, and we are very welcome to them. Now, based on existing achievements and experience, we are launching this series of "Translation Theory and Practice." We have a few ideas:
1. Strengthen independent planning and enhance originality, reflecting the new tasks and characteristics of translation in the information age and market economy.
2. Focus on practicality and relevance, not only reflecting the new trends and achievements in translation teaching and research but also paying attention to translation practice in non-literary fields such as science, technology, economics, law, trade, finance, tourism, and media.
3. Balance translation and interpretation, covering both English-Chinese and Chinese-English translation, with a focus on mutual translation between Chinese and English.
4. Selectively introduce works from abroad. Translators and translation theorists from Hong Kong, Macau, and overseas Chinese communities have many excellent works. Rooted in Chinese language and culture, they possess unique charm and are our first choice.
