Features: This dictionary is a large-scale comprehensive modern Chinese medicine lexicon in China and one of the key projects under the Medical Science Development Plan of the Ministry of Health. It was jointly edited by the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. Over 227 renowned experts from 11 TCM research and teaching institutions across the country collaborated on its compilation over a period of 20 years, divided into three phases. The second edition revised and corrected approximately 10,000 entries, added 2,217 new entries, and removed 41 entries, totaling 38,505 entries. Through revision, the second edition of this dictionary has an even broader scope of coverage; its definitions are more accurate, well-explained, concise, and easy to understand; and all entries are annotated with sources, which are precise and facilitate reference. An added Pinyin index at the end of the book also aids readers in searching. The second edition of this dictionary truly and comprehensively reflects the connotation of the Chinese medical system and its historical inheritance, accurately represents the current state of TCM and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and effectively balances the stability of the lexicon with its modernity. The second edition of this dictionary has a wide range of applications and serves as an essential reference for readers in TCM research, education, clinical practice, and other fields at multiple levels.
