"WHAT'S HAPPENING?! SOMETHING'S WRONG?!"
"OH! SOMEONE STEPPED ON MY FOOT! WHO'S PUSHING ME! NO!!"
"XIAO LIN, WHERE ARE YOU? I'M HERE!"
Sudden darkness plunged this grand hall, capable of holding ten thousand people, into unprecedented chaos. The clashing of chairs, the maddening footsteps, and the cries and curses from the crowd made the darkness even more terrifying. Everyone frantically searched for an exit while panicking, yet none noticed a rapid series of footsteps gradually fading away from the stage. Just a few seconds after the footsteps vanished, a loud click echoed as the lights in the hall finally flickered back on.
"Sorry! Sorry! There was a power outage just now! Please don't panic!" Song Yun'er's voice rang out at the exact moment the light returned, slightly calming the crowd and causing the hall to slowly quiet down.
"Did you not check the wiring before the performance? How could this happen? Can the play still go on?" A classmate, having regained composure, stood up and began to question the earnest Song Yun'er.
"Yes, what exactly happened? Wait, where is the President?! Where is President Shengye?!" Another classmate joined the chorus of demands, but his final scream drew the attention of everyone in the hall back to the stage—the once vibrant and magnificent stage was now in disarray, with props and scenery scattered haphazardly on the ground. The stage's iconic giant, ornate spotlight had somehow fallen, its glass shards scattered across every corner. Above it, a thick rope hung in the air, swaying triumphantly as if mocking someone.
No one was visible in the center of the stage. The three actors who had just been performing with such passion had vanished into thin air! Only a blood-stained dagger stood in their place, glinting menacingly under the light.
"Good heavens! What on earth happened? That knife!"
"Where is President Shengye? And Yi Linxi and Zheng Zhizhao? How did everyone just disappear?!"
"Ahh, it's so terrifying" The hall plunged into chaos once more.
"Everyone, please be quiet! Quiet!" No matter how desperately Song Yun'er shouted, the crowd below remained restless. Only when Shui Lingling appeared on stage with the disciplinary committee did they manage to regain control.
"In the name of the Drama Club and President Shengye, I sincerely apologize for the incident tonight. The performance is hereby canceled!" Song Yun'er's words once again set off an uproar among the crowd.
"No! We want to see President Shengye!"
"Right, what exactly happened? What did President Shengye—"
All eyes once again focused on the spotlight and the dagger on stage, and the atmosphere grew heavy. Shui Lingling, standing beside Song Yun'er, took a step forward, forcing herself to appear calm as she said, "Please follow the Vice President's instructions. The Student Union will take responsibility for what happened tonight and will provide answers tomorrow. Everyone, please exit the hall under the guidance of the disciplinary committee. Thank you!"
Facing Shui Lingling's ironclad determination, the murmurs in the crowd subsided. Under the organization of the Student Union's disciplinary committee, the students slowly began to leave the hall.
