Features: Zizhi Tongjian is a monumental historical work that condenses the political actions and power struggles of ancient China. It is a must-read for emperors and kings of the past, drawing lessons from history for governance. Nine hundred years later, Mr. Baoyang spent ten years (1983-1993) translating it into modern language, personally redrawing maps, and infusing his own perspectives. He discusses the causes of historical success and failure, making a history book originally intended only for emperors, kings, and generals so accessible and engaging to readers today.
