Features: Based on the research findings of scholars at home and abroad, this book traces the historical threads of the evolution and interaction of Russian and U.S. policies toward each other from 1991 to 2005, explores the causes and consequences of policy clashes in various issue and geographic areas between the two sides, and summarizes the nature, characteristics, and underlying reasons of their relationship being neither an alliance nor an enemy. Due to the broad interests and diplomatic operations of Russia and the United States, the content of their relationship has a wide scope, even a global one. Therefore, the ups and downs of Russia-U.S. relations constitute an important part of the development and changes in the global international political and security landscape during the same period. The study of the diplomatic journey of contradictions and cooperation between Russia and the United States after the dissolution of the bipolar structure reflects certain characteristics and patterns of the overall development process of contemporary international politics and security. This book has the following academic features: First, in terms of its structure, the greatest feature of this book is not limiting the study of issues to a one-way perspective of Russian policy toward the United States or U.S. policy toward Russia, but analyzing and elaborating on all aspects of the relationship between Russia and the United States from 1911 to the end of 2005 from the perspective of strategic and policy interaction between the two sides. Second, this book is both an international political work and a historical work. Third, it corresponds to the multi-level nature and broad scope of Russia-U.S. relations themselves. Fourth, this book attempts to address issues that are relatively weakly studied in the field of art research both domestically and internationally. Fifth, this book particularly emphasizes academic rigor.
