Features: The Netter Collection of Medical Illustrations was first published in 1989 and immediately created a huge impact, becoming a landmark in the history of anatomy. This atlas is composed of over 500 illustrations related to human anatomy selected from nearly 4,000 medical paintings created by the world-renowned physician and artist Dr. F.H. Netter. It has now been translated into 11 languages and has become one of the best-selling anatomy atlases in the world, as well as the preferred choice for medical students, healthcare professionals, and students in related disciplines. The atlas exclusively uses hand-drawn color illustrations by Dr. Frank H. Netter, arranged according to human systems and anatomical regions (head and neck, back and spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis and perineum, upper limb, lower limb). The illustrations have been redrawn to fit the page layout and space, and logically ordered by content. Although the fundamentals of anatomy have not changed significantly, our understanding of anatomy, its clinical significance, and its terminology have evolved. Therefore, many older illustrations needed updating, and some were revised to better suit the development of modern medicine and clinical surgery. The 3rd edition also includes additional normal radiographic images. Each section of the book features a surface anatomy illustration, emphasizing the important relationship between superficial landmarks and deep structures. Target Audience: Medical students, healthcare professionals, and related professionals.
