Although Tuina therapy has a wide range of applications and high safety, certain conditions may not only be ineffective with Tuina treatment but may also worsen the condition. Therefore, such diseases should be contraindicated for Tuina therapy. Some diseases can be treated with Tuina, but improper manipulation may cause unnecessary pain to the patient or lead to avoidable medical accidents. Such diseases should be used with caution. Thus, in home Tuina therapy, it is essential to strictly grasp the contraindications of Tuina to prevent the above issues. Generally, the following conditions are considered contraindicated or require caution when using Tuina therapy.
1. Various acute infectious diseases, such as hepatitis, tuberculosis, etc.
2. Various infectious diseases, such as osteomyelitis, purulent arthritis, brain abscess, etc.
3. Certain acute injuries, such as acute brain or central nervous system injuries, internal organ contusions, early fractures, initial paraplegia, and skin rupture, etc.
4. Cases with undiagnosed conditions, such as fractures, bone fractures, cervical spine dislocation, acute spinal injuries, especially those with spinal cord symptoms, should not undergo Tuina treatment until a clear diagnosis is made.
5. Certain severe diseases, such as heart disease, liver disease, malignant tumors, sepsis, etc.

7. Various bleeding disorders, such as traumatic bleeding, hematochezia, hematuria, etc.

10. During menstruation, the lower abdomen and lumbosacral region of women should not or be used with caution for Tuina therapy.
11. Patients with unstable mental conditions, the elderly, those with chronic illness and weakness, individuals who are extremely hungry or full, and those who are drunk should not undergo Tuina therapy.
