Features: Literary history is an important discipline within the overall field of literary studies. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, collective works compiled by major universities, colleges, and research institutions, as well as individual works by experts, have been published, each with its own unique characteristics. Some of these works have even had significant influence. However, there is still a lack of a comprehensive multi-volume literary history that provides detailed discussions. To address this gap, in accordance with the National Philosophy and Social Sciences "Six-Five" Plan, the Institute of Literature of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences organized relevant units and experts to compile the fourteen-volume Comprehensive History of Chinese Literature, aiming to serve as a reference for literary research, university teaching, and other cultural work. The overall objective of the book's compilation is to elaborate on the fundamental characteristics of ancient and modern Chinese literature under the guidance of Marxism, requiring rich and detailed materials, accurate and sufficient narration, and a scientific and comprehensive evaluation of writers and works, thereby clarifying the historical processes and the inheritance and development of various literary phenomena. The book briefly introduces topics such as an overview of the literary history of the Three Kingdoms period, Cao Cao, the literary works of Cao Cao, the literary history of Western Jin, an overview of the literary history of Western Jin, and an outline of the literary history of Eastern Jin.
