7. Make them feel needed. Adolescents must develop their sense of self and feel useful, which means they must be able to resolve social integration issues that arise in their lives. Good social integration can only be achieved when young people find the group attractive as a living space. Then, a sense of belonging to the space emerges, relationships can be built. Adolescents feel that their presence is recognized, they are taken seriously, and they can participate.
8. Preparation. In addition to peer groups, adolescents also need "chosen parents," active guardians, and older educators. People nearing retirement can establish entirely new collaborative relationships with adolescents! Parents must also be supported to do the same, so they do not avoid their children during their maturation but remain present: adolescents must be able to rely on them.
9. Actively address violence. Educational TV programs must provide more films that can help develop and implement constructive problem-solving methods. At the same time, the media should restrict programs that glorify violence.
10. Multiple ways to help parents mature, along with expanding counseling services. Helping adolescents mature must be deepened into multiple ways of helping parents and families mature: making them aware of their aggressive and violent tendencies, and recognizing that integration itself is the best weapon to minimize the vicious cycle of projection and reactive violence. This is particularly applicable to problem families and those in crisis due to separation or divorce.
11. Promote proactivity. Not only should proactivity be active but its scope should also be expanded: student exchanges, adventure education, and association work are all fundamental experimental spaces where one can correctly experience their own and others' power in unconventional ways, thereby demonstrating a corrective measure to initial socialization within the family.
12. Guide children to feel secure and teamwork. Guiding children to study quietly in school and to cooperate with others are both urgent measures that can combat selfishness, impatience, and excessive excitement centered on oneself.
13. Shorten the period of exemption from social psychological responsibility. It is particularly important to help adolescents establish responsibility for social issues as soon as possible: the period of exemption from social psychological responsibility, which is the time between sexual maturity and full social independence (in our country—Germany, generally 10 to 15 years)—must be shortened. After full sexual maturity, prolonged dependence and naivety will inevitably make it easier for adolescent counter-culture psychology and phenomena to develop in a negative direction. It is meaningful and necessary to regard adolescence as a period of experimentation and freedom, but allowing adolescents to avoid responsibility for too long will foster dissatisfaction, rebellion, and resentment.
