The book contains approximately 380,000 words, divided into a general introduction and 15 chapters, covering the historical development of Chinese law from the Xia and Shang dynasties to the establishment of the People's Republic of China.
The revised second edition of the textbook addresses the disciplinary characteristics of Chinese legal history by correcting some editing and proofreading errors. Additionally, it conducts a comprehensive verification and proofreading of the numerous ancient classics cited in the textbook, fully respecting the original texts of the classics to enable readers to access the primary historical documents. Furthermore, the textbook introduces the achievements of academic research since its first edition and presents famous case studies from important historical legal events, making the textbook more vivid.
