Ah, loyalty, filial piety, chastity, and righteousness,
You have upheld the history of four thousand years,
Yet you have ground human souls into dust.
The Yellow Sea does not rise, Kunlun sighs,
Forty million souls, heartless and lifeless,
The Central Plains weep!
Ah, loyalty, filial piety, chastity, and righteousness!
The East dawns, will it finally shine again?
Now this tangled account, how can it be settled?
Do not hurry; everything depends on human effort.
Just be patient and untie the knot of worries.
Though it is tight, it is a knot, and there are always threads to follow.
Do not blame your fingers for aching or your eyes for being tired.
Look up—already in sight, strive hard!
Four how! After all, it is untied,
Worries are hard to tie,
Worries are bitter to tie.
Come, now let your face be joyful and your smile be released;
Shake hands and work together.
This way, under the clear wind and bright sun,
The road of freedom is beautiful.
