Features: Molecular interface chemistry is the developmental direction of phenomenological interface chemistry. This book is a specialized monograph on molecular interface chemistry theory, written based on long-term research on interface phenomena with the theory of intermolecular interactions as its foundation. The book consists of eight chapters, with the first four chapters discussing the theoretical foundations of molecular interface chemistry, and the last four chapters applying the molecular interface chemistry theory to some interface phenomena.
In terms of theoretical foundations, it focuses on introducing the role of physical interfaces in interface phenomena, proposing concepts such as the physical interface interfacial layer model, surface forces, etc., and discussing the similarities and differences between the interfacial thermodynamics of the physical interface interfacial layer model and traditional interfacial thermodynamics. It also applies statistical mechanics to discuss the Stefan formula, surface forces, and the structural pressure of systems. Molecular theory is introduced into these interface phenomenon theories, with a focus on the calculation of induced forces to discuss the relationship between surface forces of pure substances, solutions, and intermolecular interaction forces.
In terms of interface phenomena, it discusses wetting theory, surface phase equilibrium theory, and solution surface phenomenon theory. Additionally, based on the microstructural composition of randomly distributed gas pressure in statistical analysis, it discusses and verifies the relationship between molecular internal pressure and surface tension in liquids with short-range ordered structures, emphasizing the formation, properties, and effects of molecular internal pressure, thereby elucidating the molecular nature of interface phenomena.
This book can serve as a teaching and learning reference for university teachers, senior undergraduate and graduate students in science and engineering disciplines (such as physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, energy, biology, pharmacy, materials, metallurgy, welding, etc.), as well as a reference for relevant researchers and engineering.
