Will bacterial vaginosis be transmitted to the husband?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, I've been experiencing discomfort in my lower abdomen these past few days. Today, I had a routine vaginal discharge test, and the results showed "B.V. positive, cleanliness 3." The doctor diagnosed me with bacterial vaginosis and prescribed medication (Nifuratel tablets [Makotai], Povidone-iodine suppository [Guangtai], Shenbai Shuyin Wash). The doctor asked me to take the medication for a 12-day course first, then stop for 3 days before coming back for a follow-up.
However, I remember having sex with my husband a few days ago without using a condom, and I'm worried about transmitting it to him. But the doctor didn't tell me how to check or treat him. Will I transmit it to my husband? How can I tell if he's been infected?

Doctor's answer:

Treatment:
1. Metronidazole (Flagyl)
Usage: Take 0.2-0.4g orally per time, 2-3 times daily, for 7 consecutive days. It can also be administered via intravenous drip.
2. Amoxicillin
Usage: Take 0.5g orally per time, 3 times daily. It can also be diluted and administered via intravenous drip in two divided doses of 6g daily.
Local Treatment:
1. Clean the area frequently to maintain local hygiene.
2. Regularly rinse the vagina with 3% boric acid or dilute acetic acid, followed by rinsing with clean water to alleviate symptoms.
3. Rinsing with erythromycin solution may also be effective.
4. Use "Jie'eryin" or "Fu Yin Jie" for vaginal rinsing, once daily or every other day.
Precautions:
Appropriate treatment should be provided for sexual partners, regardless of whether they show symptoms. Bacterial vaginosis may coexist with other sexually transmitted diseases, and relevant examinations and treatments should be conducted.
