Features: We selected typical excavation cases and sought the cooperation of the site directors, asking them to write about the excavation of ancient artifacts. With their consent, we included as much detail as possible about the process of the excavation and relevant information to understand the ancient site, such as historical background and geographical environment. After some time of effort, we finally achieved our goal. Now, this significant archaeological excavation record, which combines both events and emotions, is presented to you. The excavation of the three Han tombs at Mawangdui has been going on for over thirty years. When recalling the participation in the excavation and research of the Mawangdui Han tombs, there were too many people and events involved. The excavation details recorded in this book are merely some facts that the authors personally participated in and witnessed during the excavation and research of the three Han tombs. When writing this book, we also tried our best to comprehensively reflect the excavation of the Mawangdui Han tombs and related research. We referred to the excavation records and research articles on the Mawangdui Han tombs written by Mr. Hou Liang, He Jiejun, Zhang Weimin, Zhou Shirong, Fu Xingyou, and others, as well as the excavation reports published by the Cultural Relics Publishing House, such as "The No. 1 Han Tomb at Mawangdui, Changsha" and "The No. 2 and No. 3 Han Tombs at Mawangdui, Changsha."
