The Xiao Huangshan Site in Shengzhou, Zhejiang, represents early Neolithic cultural remains, exhibiting a cultural profile distinct from the Kuailuqiao and Hemudu cultures, providing rich material for studying the transition and transformation of human civilization from foraging economies to agricultural economies. The discovery of the mid-Yangshao period cemetery and moats at the Xipo Site in Lingbao, Henan, offers new insights into the cultural content, scale, and settlement morphology of the Xipo Site. The aristocratic cemetery at Yaojiashan in Tongxiang, Zhejiang, is one of the highest-level Liangzhu culture cemeteries discovered in northern Zhejiang in recent years. It yielded a large number of valuable artifacts, including jade, stone, pottery, and dentine tools. Two types of jade artifacts were newly discovered for the first time during formal archaeological excavations. In recent years, China has experienced rapid economic development, and the government has increased its support for cultural relic protection efforts. Archaeological work in 2005 primarily focused on academic research, large-scale heritage protection projects, and the preservation of cultural relics during infrastructure development.
